We are looking forward to featuring so many of our favorite vendors you may not have heard of yet in the wedding industry. One of the first vendors we want to introduce is Jackie McGinnis Photo! This sweet human came into my life and honestly, I don’t know what I would do without her! She is a fabulous photographer, kind soul that would do anything for you, and is a great addition to your wedding day team!

What made you want to get into photography + weddings?

Photography started as a hobby in high school. I was that friend who always had a camera whenever we went anywhere, and I worked on the yearbook staff which I LOVED. I think a lot of it comes from the fact that I don't really have any photos from when I was younger, which is hard because we forget so much so quickly. Photos preserve all those things so you can go back + relive them, which I can't do.

What makes you unique, why should someone hire you?

Honestly, to me, the word "unique" is kind of like the word "normal." Those are just concepts that we've been taught, but what do they even mean?? At my core, I'm just an ordinary, average person who is a hopeless romantic with a love for creativity + beauty. I work hard, value my couples as people, and have already been through the wedding planning process so I know exactly what people are going through!

Tell us about you!

I’m just a girl living her dream trying to avoid the Southern heat with my wife + our 3 doggos in Tennessee. Meet Murphy, Max, + Millie! They are precious but don’t let those faces fool you- they absolutely have been fed already.

Love stories have always been a favorite of mine (Hi, hopeless romantic here, nice to meet ya. Part of me blames Disney, tbh.)

Obviously being an LGBTQ woman in the South can be hard, but that’s why I am so drawn to couples who LOVE OUT LOUD. Because despite all of our differences, love is what we all share. It is truly our one universal truth. That no matter who we are, where we come from, or what we believe, we know this one thing: love is what we’re doing right.

I like to think of myself as traditional-adjacent. (Trademark pending. Hahaha jk. But please don’t steal it from me. It’s like my ONE cool thing.)

Let’s push boundaries together. Let’s take some traditional shots for Mom and Dad, and then let’s get a little weird. Let’s get to know each other. Let’s play. Let’s run (um, don’t worry when I look like I’m dying. It’s fine. I’m fine.) Let’s get intimate. Let’s have FUN.
