From acrylic seating charts, chairs, table numbers, and floral boxes, acrylic is everywhere! We personally love using acrylic because it’s such a versatile material! You can paint it, stack flowers on top, display flowers or balloons inside, literally possibilities are endless! It’s a little on the expensive side but seriously will be used over and over again! We have a ton of rental companies in Memphis that even have acrylic rentals like the black chairs we used for our Central Station Styled Shoot!

We’ve seen more and more couples stray away from the grand wedding cake days! More people are getting an assortment of desserts for the guests and a mini cake for the cake-cutting portion of the night! We’ve seen it all from donut walls to mini cupcakes and cake pops, anything sweet, it’s been on a dessert bar!

4. Dried Flowers

Dried flowers mixed with fresh flowers are something we’ve been seeing more and more of! With bohemian and retro color schemes trending, dried flowers like dried or fake palm leaves and pampas grass are making their mark on the 2021 wedding scene this year! We love getting to mix dried and fresh flowers for added texture to a bouquet or ceremony arch or backdrop!

Of course, with event restrictions and outdoor venues being more open, we’ve noticed an upwards tick towards tented and outdoor events, and we are here for it! You can easily make an outdoor space feel more intimate with several long tables, some twinkle lights and candles, and a family-style dinner! There are still plenty of venues with outdoor spaces available for both your ceremony and reception, so take full advantage!

Living room décor seems to be the newest way to personalize your wedding in 2021! It adds a vintage or bohemian vibe to your wedding but rentals can be suited for any wedding design! The living setting decor trend adds an element of intimacy to your wedding too. Instead of using the basic white, foldout chairs at your ceremony, try living room seating furniture to encourage your guests to get nice and cozy and make them feel like they’re all truly part of the family!

7. Brunch Weddings

With tented and outdoor weddings becoming trendy, brunch weddings are gaining popularity. The natural sunlight and morning air make the perfect setting in an outdoor and tented brunch wedding. A Bloody Mary and mimosa bar for the guest to mix their own cocktails adds a relaxed feel and allow the guests to mingle with one another. Having a brunch wedding also makes way for the wedding to be an all-day event! You can celebrate during brunch then continue the after-party that night!

8. Color, Color, and more Color!

Color is the new white! Gone are the days of an all-white wedding design. Color palettes are being pushed to the absolute max and creativity is flowing in 2021. From color floral arrangements to pops of color in the rentals, color is super trendy for wedding design in 2021! Experiment with bold colors and push your wedding design to the limits!

Brides are leaning more and more towards letting their bridesmaids choose a dress silhouette that fits their body type as well as dresses in different shades that match their wedding design. Mix-matched bridesmaids’ dresses aren’t revolutionary for 2021 wedding trends but seem to be more and more popular with each wedding season! The overarching theme of making weddings more and more personalized is definitely evident with mix-matched bridesmaids’ dresses!

10. Hanging Installations

If you want an instant wow-factor to your wedding design, you have to incorporate a hanging installation into your wedding design! Floral and greenery wreaths above the dance floor seem to be all over the wedding design scene! You can even get creative like our Christmas wedding (pictured above) and hang ornaments as a festive salute to the holiday season! Whatever it is, hanging installations are never NOT going to be super impressive, and the possibilities are endless!

Whatever your taste in wedding design and decor, these top trends for 2021 can be incorporated with any design! The unique thing about these trends is they can be personalized to your specific tastes, venue, guests, whatever you need them to be! We cannot wait to see what other trends pop up in 2021, and we are so ready to keep incorporating these favorite wedding design trends into our own wedding designs!
