I remember the first time I went to an event at the gorgeous Annesdale Mansion. It was fascinating how grand it felt as you walked through the front door - the breathtaking staircase, details in the woodwork, and little surprises around every corner. Talking to the manager, Valerie, about the estate’s history, just made my heart fall even more in love with the mansion. The careful restoration that took place and the attention to the original design is astounding. It is tucked away in a little corner of Memphis and it offers such a stunning backdrop for a wedding or event. I was thrilled we were able to plan and do florals for two weddings there this year! It’s always a joy for us to be able to make a couple’s style come to life for their event. These two couples had very different color schemes, personalities, and loves. We get such fun-loving unique couples and we don’t want any event to feel cookie cutter. These two definitely fit the bill. We can’t wait for our next event at this beautiful venue!

An 1850’s Italian villa and hidden crown jewel, Annesdale Mansion blends a hint of vintage Southern charm and romantic Old World architecture - making this a one-of-a-kind setting for any event.
Dr. Samuel Mansfield built the mansion in the 1850’s. Gracing the Memphis area to this very day, it is one of the largest and oldest homes, sitting on more than 7 acres of land in the Annesdale Snowden Historic District. Robert Brinkley, the builder of the Peabody Hotel, purchased the mansion as a wedding present for his daughter, Annie Overton Brinkley, and her husband, Colonel Robert Bogardus Snowden. In his daughter’s honor, Brinkley named the estate “Annesdale”. For more than 160 years, the Annesdale Mansion and its gardens were home to the Snowden family; even serving as a hospital during the Civil War, for a short period of time.
In 2009, the Snowden Family held an estate sale, selling everything in the home. The current owner acquired Annesdale in 2010, retaining the 14-foot ceilings, preserving the garden and the many windows with Aubusson window treatments. Now the historic landmark serves its purpose as an event venue for all things weddings, banquets, corporate meetings, and much more.
Annesdale has such a vintage, romantic space with much to offer for events large in scale or small. The mansion is 17,000 square feet with preserved historic architecture. Downstairs combines elements of timelessness and elegance, that consists of a marble entryway, sun room, dining area, library, the grand parlor and a full-service kitchen. Walking up the antique spiral staircase leads you to the bride’s room, groom’s den, and the green room. Crystal chandeliers accent the 11 fireplaces Annesdale possesses, while the walnut paneling and hand-painted ceilings keep the vintage look alive. The five bathrooms make for an accommodating space for any event.
Flaunting a romantic and elegant garden, Annesdale provides the perfect setting for outdoor wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours or dinner parties. The limestone patio indubitably doubles as an entertainment space or reception area. Amongst the many photo opportunities the mansion offers, the cobblestone path leading to a quaint fountain area is one of the most popular, as it is displays intimacy with its whimsical features - something Annesdale Mansion will never lack.
